After: Nina's wedding (part 2)

It's my final post of 2009!

Let me start by saying that I hope you all had a lovely Christmas! And best wishes for an amazing 2010!

To finish off the year at The Kissing Tree, I am going to post some photos from the last wedding I did. They are photos from Nina's wedding a couple of weeks ago. Nina used the same fantastic photographer that I had for my wedding so I was able to get a few professional photographs from their day.

Thank you to all of my brides in 2009! I have felt so lucky to take part in such a special day of your lives, and have been so impressed with all of the great people that I have met. My brides are honestly the best and most lovely brides I could ever ask for!

After: Nina-Jay's wedding

Oh my gosh I have a photo overload! But you all like looking at pictures don't you?

I said in my previous post that I wouldn't get the opportunity to meet this wonderful couple, but I actually did get to meet the groom on the morning of the wedding. He is great - and so is his family, I just love them!

Nina-Jay was an absolutely gorgeous bride, and from what she has told me, it was a perfect day for everyone! Congratulations to the newlyweds. You really deserved a wonderful wedding and I am so happy that you have such great memories to look back on.

The bride had the same style of bouquet that I made last week, a small elegant posy of white calla lilies:

The buttonhole for the groom and the Father's was of a single white calla lily on camellia leaf:

Dress corsages for the Mum's were of champagne singapore orchids on camellia leaf:

The ceremony was held at the house of the grooms parents. It was a beautiful property with stunning ocean views over Terrigal. Ruth (the Mother of teh groom) asked me to make up some arrangements to decorate the house.

This one was to sit on a table at the front entry of the house. Ruth wanted something bright so we decided on pink oriental lilies, white singapore orchids, hot pink roses and blue cornflower with some foliage and palm:

This arrangement was made to sit on the long dining table. It has the same flowers in it as the previous arrangement:

This is the arrangement we made to sit on the signing table. It is slightly different to the others as it was going outside in the garden where the ceremony was being held, and we wanted it to include the same flowers / colours that were being used to decorate the reception. It has pink oriental lilies, white singapore orchids, and white roses with foliage and palm:

Now on to the reception. This was held at 'The Letterbox Restaurant' in Terrigal. The staff there were extremely nice and genuinely excited to hold Nina-Jay and Russell's wedding there.

Here is the flower spray I did for the wedding cake. It is of pink oriental lilies and white singapore orchids:

And all of the tables had an arrangement on it of pink oriental lilies, white singapore orchids, white roses with foliage, and a candle in the middle:

After: Mira's wedding (part 2)

I managed to get some photos of Mira's wedding bouquets! Yay!

My favourite wedding photographer, Julie from Delisser photography, sent me a few images of Mira's flowers last night. Thanks Julie, they look great!

Before: Odette's wedding

I first met Odette about a year ago. She works at the Erina Scrapbook Store, and had organised a baby shower for a mutual friend that works with her. I didn't know anyone else at the baby shower besides my friend, and I had never even been to a baby shower before so I felt a bit nervous before it. But I shouldn't have worried because Odette and her team of girls from the Erina Scrapbook Store had organised a really fun afternoon and I had a great time. We crossed paths again earlier this year when Odette spoke to me about doing her wedding flowers. And then coincidently, we both had our first wedding expo at Diggers. I had my stall as The Kissing Tree and Odette and her sister Bec had their stall as Erina Scrapbook Store. I had a good stickybeak at their stall, and the invitations they had were gorgeous! If you need some inspiration for your wedding invitations, I can recommend Erina Scrapbook Store. All of the girls there are so friendly and are full of advice and ideas that will help you out. They can make all of your invitations for you, or if you would prefer to DIY, they have many supplies in store to choose from. Anyway, I don't have any pictures of the flowers I am working with this week. But here is a photo of the bouquet that we are using as our inspiration: All of the bouquets are going to look similar to this (but we are using different coloured roses). And I have to set up some flowers at their reception venue so I will have some photos from there to share.

I Do Cupcakes (& more)

I Do Cupcakes has just relocated to the Central Coast.

My sister Gerri is the owner of I Do Cupcakes and has been servicing many weddings in the Newcastle and Hunter Valley market with her delicious cakes. Now she has opened her very own cafe/bakery in Gosford so we can finally have access to all of the yumminess!

Her cafe/bakery is called I Do Cupcakes & more and is located in William Street, Gosford. It's right across the road from the new look Kibble park. She makes cupcakes, pastries, tarts, cakes, croissants, scones, pies and sausage rolls, quiches, sandwiches, and a variety of hot food. And on top of all of that, she still does wedding cakes and other events. Go and check it out.

Congratulations Delisser Photography!

Last night I attended the magazine launch of the new 2009 edition of the Newcastle Central Coast Wedding magazine.

Now when I was planning my wedding, this became my bible. It has so many vendors listed in the one place and I found it very helpful.

All of the magazine advertisers are invited to the launch so I dragged my hubby along and we actually got a lift up to the party from our wedding photographer - (who I have since become friends with) - Julie from Delisser photography and her husband Grant. This is the first time I have advertised in a magazine so I was pretty excited.

We had a bit of sparkly, some lovely canapes and then the formalities got underway.

One of things that I didn't find out until last night was that there is alot of secrecy about the front cover of the magazine. All of the photographers are invited to submit a random selection of their work that may be featured throughout the magazine. On the launch night, the front cover is revealed for the first time and the photographers find out who gets the prestigious front cover position.

Well last night as I was standing next to Julie, the cover was revealed, I heard Julie gasp and then the MC announce that Delisser Photography had won the front cover! Julie was genuinely surprised but to be honest, I wasn't surprised at all. I have always raved to people about how gorgeous my wedding photos are. Julie and her husband are an extremely talented team and they are so deserving of this accolade. I don't know how the publishers picked which photo would go on the cover because that particular wedding that Julie and Grant shot had so many breathtaking photos. Congratulations guys!

So it turned out to be a very fun and successful night in the end. We even noticed that two photos from our wedding were in the magazine!

The count down to Jenny's wedding

My friend Jenny is getting married in one month today. It's crazy how you can talk about a wedding for more than a year, you think you have all this time to plan and then all of a sudden it's one month! Aaauuuuggghh!

Jenny and I met many years ago when we were teenagers and worked together. Now she is a photographer and runs her own business called Pink Lily Photography.

I can't wait to make Jenny's wedding bouquet. She is having a small hand held posy of white freesias. The bridesmaids will have the same but a smaller version. Freesias are an extremely fragrant flower and are available most times of the year.

This is the picture that Jennny's bouquet will be based on. Beautiful, simple and fresh.

I'll come back in a month and show you how it turns out!

My Wedding

As I said in a previous post, my husband and I were married almost 3 months ago (even though today is actually our 11th anniversary), so I think it is only right that since I could be sharing in your special day, you should get an image of mine. I've put together a photo board of our wedding that we held in the beautiful Hunter Valley. Our photographers were Julie and Grant from Delisser photography. Not only are they the nicest people you will ever meet, but they are extremely talented and I would recommend them to anyone.

Some of my other suppliers were: Videography - White Designs, Hair Stylist - Julie Blazely from The Art Of Hair Beecroft, Makeup Artist - Katrina Middleton from About F.A.C.E Sydney, Dress Maker - Susan from Studio Fabrics, Celebrant - Tony Tamplin and Cake - Gerri from I Do Cupcakes. They were all fantastic!

After spending the last 2 years planning my wedding, I completely understand all of the hard work that couples put into their special day. I wanted my wedding to be perfect and I can relate to other brides who are hoping for the same thing. Please let me know if I can assist you in any way.
